6GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz
GRAPHICS CARD Intel® HD Graphics

both are for 499$ so its kinda hard to make a decision.. also I never did buy an acer before.

This really comes down to battery life. The Intel® Core™ i5-3317U is a low power processor that has about 1/2 of the TDP of the Intel Core i5-3210M. This can lead to a lot more battery life for you but even at its best with turbo boost kicking in the Intel Core i5-3317U willl only run about the same level as the Intel Core i5-3210M at its normal speed.

So the question is how much time are you going to be spending on battery? If you are going to be doing a lot of work on battery go with the Intel Core i5-3317U if not than going with the Intel Core i5-3210M.

I really appreciate your answer ... even though battery life seems to me the major difference between the two...
still are there any other differences that there are present.... between the two laptops? ?

thanking you

stronger cpu is certainly fine ..but i was just thinking about the weight of both the laptops....
as I do think of bringing it to uni each day!! so if i buy the i5 3317 u..will it still be as good as the other ??

cuz dell is around 2.22 kg while acer is around 3.2 kg ( but is stronger processor)
