So I've been playing games on my crappy Acer laptop, and I figure it's time to upgrade. I'm on a budget though, and this is about the highest I'm willing to pay. What do you guys think?

Very nice!

Just my two cents, check WD Caviar Black 500GB if you can afford it, and make sure that the PSU will handle your system in avery situation (i would prefer a little stronger one, like Corsair Builder Series 500W)
 
slightly tweaking: bigger HDD, quad core, slightly slower cpu (not that significantly), smaller, less expensive case (still holds everything)
