White screen

hi guys

i have a packard bell laptop that on startup the screen is white i can hear the laptop starting sounds as if its working so after a quick google i see it may be the connection for the lcd screen or the actual screen itself or the mobo im just wondering what steps i could take to determine what component is causing the white screen. As far as I know the laptop did not get any bang or anything is there a reason why the screen would go like this ? thanks for any advice guys
