First time build for graphic design (CS6) and light gaming

Hi everyone,

My husband I and have decided to take on our first computer build project together. We are both new to this but he has some electronic experience, so once we buy the parts, putting it together won't be a problem.

I will be using this mainly as a work computer using Adobe CS6 Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. My husband wants to use it for light gaming, mainly Diablo 3 and some WOW every few months or so. I've done some research and with some help from my brother, who built his computer a few years ago, this is what I have come up with.

Main concerns:
I think I did enough research to make sure all these are compatible, but I'm looking for a pretty balanced machine within my budget (1200-1500), not sure if this list fits that description.

I splurged on the i7 processor over a few i5s I was looking at because everywhere I was reading was pretty much including those in graphic design builds with CS6, is this somewhere I could save $100 or so?

I will be using my SSD Drive exclusively for Windows and CS6, but I've read somewhere to put them on my HDD and use my SSD for a scratch disk and for output files until completed (and then move them to my HDD or an external drive) Which would be the best way to set this up?

My screen doesn't include HDMI, which isn't a deal breaker, but is there another screen out there that you would recommend? I need it to be able to pivot vertical and be at least 24 inches.

Finally, this doesn't really matter, but why are there no really great white screens out there? Am I forced to get a Mac if I want a clean white setup?

Thanks in advance to all who reply!
