I currently own a Nikon E8800 and am happy with the image quality
apart from in low light conditions. The sports mode could be better
and due to the number of portrait pix I shoot the Nikon is getting
on my nerves as it does not set the EXIF Orientation tag so I end
up having to mark which images need rotating. On the positive side
the build quality, size and handgrip are great.
Was considering getting a DSLR but when I see what a couple of my
friends end up carting around lens wise I have started looking at
another prosumer camera and the spec of the Panasonic FZ30 caught
my eye.
I took a look at one last weekend and apart from the stupid drop-
down LCD which they should have done like the Nikon has and that
its a little bigger I liked what I saw. Now a couple of questions:
1. whats the image quality like in comparision to the Nikon E8800 ?
2. is the EXIF Orientation tag set so auto-rotation of images works ?
3. do any Nikon E8800 owners who have switched have other comments ?
