Powers on for split second, then dies immediately.

Hey guys, I finally finished my build today, or so I thought, but now when I press the power button, the computer turns on for a split second the dies. There isn't any output information or anything. I've narrowed it down to either a messed up PSU, CPU, or my heat sink is interfering with the mobo fan control. The pin for the mobo supports 4 pin fans, but I'm using a 3 pin fan. Here's my hard ware.

Asus Sabertooth Z77 mobo
i7-3770k CPU
Corsair AX 860 watt 80 plus platinum
Hyper 212 EVO heatsink w/ cooler master sickle flow 120mm fans on push/pull (using CPU_fan and CPU_opt fan ports.

Please help guys, this is a $2000 machine that's useless right now and I need it for school asap. I need to know what to RMA, if anything, asap.

You mentionned a 3pin connector in a 4pin port ? Make sure it is plugged on the right pins because the because computer will not start.

The CPU had a short, I just unplugged the wires and plugged them back in and it worked.
