1x (6+2) pin PCIE Question?

Im wondering can a 1x (6+2) pin PCIE Power Connecter be used for a GTX 660? what only needs 6 Pins? and you dont need to use the +2?

Hi. If the graphics card require a 6-pin which I believe the GTX 660 does, then just plug the 6-pin PCI Express connector into it and leave the +2-pin hanging.

The extra two are there to make it work for 8 pin without them its just a 6 pin, so yes
