Hello tomshardware community i am new to the forums, i have come here for your guys expertise in computers.

I currently have a hp pavilion computer that i am going to start upgrading. I want to start by upgrading my motherboard that would be compatible with the processor that i have now and will be upgrading to the Fx 8120 or Piledriver if it releases on am3+ socket and actually shows a improvement over bulldozer. Currently i have a Athlon ii x4 635 2.9ghz processor and i am thinking of getting is one of these Mobo's, and i can't decide which one to get so i need your help to decide.

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5

I will be doing some mild overclocking when i get the corsair h100 to keep my cpu nice and cool which makes me ask if someone can show me a good case that i can use and mount my h100's radiator on the top of the case, and has some good cable management. i would like to keep the case price under $120.

I would just like to say thank you to anyone that can help me in advance! :)

1. Suggest you WAIT until you are buying your new processor to get a motherboard. If you do get a new MB your HP recovery media will not work, and you will no longer be able to download/install HP service. They are both tied to the MB tatoo (or were a few years ago when I went thru that "code purple" nonsense).
2. Suggest you post what you are trying to do. Upgrading a prebuilt PC is usually a video card swap to make gamers happy or an SSD install to improve boot time. It's rare that it makes sense to upgrade CPU and MB in the HP case.

If you are a gamer compare what you have ( Athlon ii x4 635) with what you want (Fx 8120) in this spec: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html You'll see the author thinks they are the SAME for gaming.
