Linksys G 2.4 keeps bumping Mac laptop off internet

Hello,
Our Mac laptop keeps losing internet connection. I take out the wires and plug them back in, then it's okay.
What gives?

I should add that our desktop PC stays connected through all of this until I disconnect the wires from the router, but then it comes back on and our daughter's laptop gets the signal back.

It is a WRT 54 G Linksys, by the way. Perhaps it's just time for a new one? It's at least 6 years old I believe.
