Should I get the Gigabyte GTX 670 OC edition and a horrible monitor (I'll be able to save up for a BenQ 23" Full HD 1080p screen in 3 months) or get a GTX 570 and the aforementioned monitor.

I wanted to know if the monitor affects the display as much as the GPU does.
Thanks guys.

I would go with the GTX670, but with EVGA and get a monitor later on. For the simple fact that you will get 2 eye candy upgrades in 3 months, instead of one mediocre one.

So for three months I'll have to deal with a bad display? I don't know what the monitor does, that's the thing. Is it the GPU that send the data, and the monitor that just displays it? Because then a bad monitor is not worth having with a good GPU.

The monitor only displays the data given by the GPU. It doesn't do any rendering, or processing. This way you maximize your gains visually, with a fast renderer combined with a good monitor (later on).

As long as your current monitor still works.
