I'm getting the alienware x51, and it comes with the Nivida GT545, I mainly play minecraft, so I would like to know your opinion if I should upgrade to the GTX 660TI or even the 555. Or will the 545 be enough as it is?

Solution
Get the i5-3570K instead of the i7-3770K. The $100 price difference is not seen in game. in other words, there is no noticeable difference in gaming between the i7 and i5.

Pick a better power supply from a known brand. Those like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, and PC Power & Cooling:

You picked an incorrect motherboard. That motherboard is for AMD chips, not intel chips. Go for something like this:

You picked some of the most expensive RAM I have ever seen. Its also for servers. You don't really need more than 8GB, and if you need more, you can...

Pretty sure the power supply in that computer is not enough to support a 660Ti, and you won't be able to upgrade the power supply either. Your best bet is getting a new case, power supply, and graphics card.

Did you mean a new case for the alienware, or customize my own computer?

Anything you recommend? As in same specs and same price? $899 Core i5 processor 8 gigs of ram, gt 545 nvidia? Or even better specs for the same price..

Should be enough for the new GTX 660. I'd say upgrade to that.

Do you think the 660 is a must? I basically only play minecraft, leauge of legends, and I might play battlefield 3. Would the GT545 I'm going to get play minecraft with no lag on all high settings?

GT 545 would die on BF3, would do alright on the rest.

The GTX 660 would crush BF3 :D

I would just build it myself personally if I were you. Even though you may think its hard, its really not that hard. Its basically an electronic lego kit.....and it makes you feel more accomplished.

Here's a guide for you to use:

Honestly, I don't consider myself like amazing, but I can pretty much have it built hardware-wise in like half an hour to an hour. The only reason my newest main computer took me 3 hours is because I was going for perfect cable management and good looking. The case I was working with was hard to work with as well.

Honestly, for what you are paying for that you can get a really nice gaming computer.

Alright, I've decided I will build my own computer. If you don't mind could you take a look at these parts I'm looking at? Anything that you would change/improve?

Also anything I'm missing?

One more question, Windows 7 home, or ultimate?

Anyone feel free to tell me your suggestions.

You probably want a DVD drive that burns DVD's too. Not just one that reads:

Alright, Thanks a ton. I've added them up and it's looking at a around $1300! Before I leave now, Is there something I should buy that keeps my computer from not overheating or is it fine as it is?
