I've been wanted a new CPU for awhile now because I built my computer about 3-4 years ago. My current CPU is a AMD Phenom II X2 555 unlocked to Phenom II X4 B55.

I was thinking which of these would be better than what I have now or its not worth the upgrade.

Thanks!

Either the FX-6300/8320/8350 is a decent upgrade from that cpu, you might also check the intel cpu side, with the i5-3470/i5-3570k/i7-3770k, with good prices there.

There is no doubt the FX 8350 is the best AMD has to offer.

All the MOBOs that comes with it can be overclocked. They all support SLI and CF. I would just pick the cheapest, I don't see why you should spend more money on something that won't really affect your performance by that much. There might be a difference of how well the different MOBOs overclock, but I wouldn't care too much about that, the difference isn't spectacular.

Best you can do with an AM3 socket is Phenom II X4.

You will need to upgrade your motherboard in order to get a better processor.

My personal opinion would be to get the 8350. The i7's are slightly faster but you pay big time for what would be an un-noticeable difference in speed. Use the money you save to get an SSD.
