This seen to be hard to believe as intel as never say it was going to change socket soon also.why it will change socket as BBUL will be ready to be mainstrean in a couple of year.

Well I'll be damned, once more Intel does the roundabout and closes upgrade paths right after 800MHZ FSB Pentium 4 HT. And strange how some complained at the insane amount of pins for ClawHammer, when Prescott is likely to have nearly the same amount.

Who will win then?
Personally I am much more convinced at Prescott's dominance and performance.

I was one of the (non-fanboy) rare guys who did't beleive that Prescott is going to use socket 478.

I'm 90% sure that Intel is going to call Prescott "Pentium 5", just like P3 vs. P2.

No Presscott WILL USE SOCKET 478.As Willimete they will start to offer Socket 478 and socket T to ease transition.

To what intel say in for power consumation and others i guess a lot of pin wont be use but as pin cost so much compare to the rest ????

I been able to find new information on Tejas

They use about the same improvemnet to presscott

Improve L1 (2X frenquency L1D)
Improve L2
Improve FSB (1066 1200)
Improvement to HT (4 way 4 BHT)
Extend ISA


I have found also paper on ALpha EV8 (dead before birth) they were working on a huge Vector base ISA name tarentule.I smell brand new vector base instruction on Chivano
