I built my first computer the other day and well to be honest after being disappointed from spending hours installing everything and nothing working I put it aside for 2 days. I needed a break. Well needless to say two days later when I look inside I am still no better off in trying to figure out what is wrong. I made sure there was no static while building, I set everything up, but when I press the power button, absolutely nothing happens, no led lights of any kind, no fans, no activity from the motherboard, nothing. Is the motherboard shot? The PSU? The CPU? I don't even know where to begin since the motherboard doesn't even seem to want to tell me anything either. Here is what I purchased:
The only thing that I had serious insecurities about while building was in fact my PSU, since the wires are not all labelled and such. But I managed to make with the obvious and plug in the 24 pin connector... though was not entirely sure how to connect the end to the PSU. I plugged one half of it above, and the other below on the second row. And yes, I plugged the 12V as well... though not entirely sure if I am again using the correct cord. I know that makes all the difference, but I can't seem to find any information online for those damn cords and which one is which.
The other thing I noticed is the front panel connectors do not seem to stay firmly in place, but then even when they are firmly in place, I still do not get power.
So any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated. I can't believe I spent as much as I did on this computer and the damn thing won't even turn on. Before I can RMA anything, I really need to know if I simply missed something. So anything that can be offered for assistance I would be very thankful. Thank you!
