I'm trying to put multiple images on the same piece of paper. I have found a
way using the enlarge canvas command followed by selection, copy, paste and
move. But it seems very clumsy and I get messages about being unable to move
the selected portion.

Is there and easy way?

Thanks

John

Not sure if there is an 'easy' way but here is what I would do:
Make sure all of your images are in a format in which PS allows the easy use
of layers, like psd. Make sure that all of your images are the same
resolution - for example 300 pixels per inch. Create a new blank image
(File-New) of the size you need it to be to hold all of the images you
intend to move. Make sure that the new blank image is the same number of
ppi as all of the images you intend to move. Then select-copy-paste each
image to the blank canvas. Each image will then appear in its own layer.
You will be able to use the move tool to put each image exactly where you
want it on the blank canvas. Last you can either save the image will all
layers in tact or flatten it (layers-flatten image) so that you have one
composite image.

Should answering this kind of question be encouraged here? I am really
not being a dick, it's a serious question. It was a photoshop question
unrelated to photography (or tenuously). It is also a basic photoshop
issue. "I just bought a Rebel XT, does anyone know how to turn it on?"
I think the better suggestion would be to have the OP buy a photoshop
book. They would learn a lot more.

Maybe I am just grumpy this morning.

Love you.

You said it. I didn't.
Of course, he could have gone to "adobe.photoshop.windows"...
Better to give him the answer than to chastise him, ain't it? ;-)
Cheers,
Marcel

"Dear Eatmorepies,
I discovered the exact answer to your question in Usenet Group
adobe.photoshop.windows, but found it more trouble than it
it was worth. The WinXP viewer has a built-in capability that
makes it Q&E (quick and easy)."

Try using a contact sheet via automate. Here's a link on it.

A better group would be comp.graphics.apps.photoshop . There he would
get a good answer.

I agree, supply the answer or don't bother to reply. In my defence (as the
OP); I did try the help in Photoshop and read parts of my very thick
photoshop book; but failed to find a better way than I originally described.
Also, my news server doesn't carry that group.

Regards

John

I did provide the answer. That is why I replied. Sorry it was not what
you wanted to hear. I was being gentle in saying that it was OT for this
newsgroups since I was unsure if it really was for all else.
