Graphics card Update

Hello, I need to upgrade my graphics card on my hp pavillion slimline s5220f! I was wondering since the case is so small, what would be a good graphics card update for cheap that would also fit inside the computer! Will the Asus Radeon HD 5450 run on my computer fine and fit inside of the case! I really want an update so i can finally play ARMA 2!!!!!!!!!

  1. I don't know if the 5450 will be able to play arma 2.

The 6450 is probably the best card you can put in without changing power supply. and even that might not be powerful enough for ARMA 2.
  2. thanks for the fast reply!! what do you think is the bare minimum graphics card to run ARMA 2
  3. and will the 6450 be able to fit in the case
  4. ARMA 2 Minimum System Requirements

Processor: Dual Core CPU for Intel or AMD
    Memory/RAM: 1 GB
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 7800 / ATI Radeon 1800 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 256 MB VRAM
    Hard Disk Space: 10 GB
Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista

that minimal video requirement would be about 2x as fast as the 6450. If you swap out the power supply and buy a 6670 or 6570 slim, then you'd have something powerful enough.
  5. I was able to run Arma 2 (DayZ I'm guessing?) on a Radeon 5570 on low settings. I guess if you turned the graphics down to the lowest it goes you might be able to pull it off.

    The 6450 should fit also.

    The requirements are as follows:

    Minimum:

OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor: Dual Core CPU (Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, Intel Core 2.0 GHz, AMD Athlon 3200+ or faster)
    Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: GPU (Nvidia Geforce 7800 / ATI Radeon 1800 or faster) with Shader Model 3 and 256 MB VRAM
Hard Drive: 10 GB free HDD space

Here you can see where those cards are on the chart:

The 7800GT is as fast as a 6450.
  6. actually the 6450 should run it on minimal, I was wrong about the performance of the 7800gt.
  7. Dont worry I would have thought the 7800GT was faster than that (I did until I looked at that chart)
  8. Will the 6570 Asus Radeon hd fit inside of the slimline case
  9. if the card says slimline then it will.
  10. If its "low profile" it should
