Hi, I have an AMD Athlon64 x2 3600+ with an ASUS motherboard (M2NPV-VM) and it currently has a GIGABYTE Odin 470 power supply which has been discontinued. I need to replace the power supply and wanted to know what would be a suitable replacement power supply?

Thanks,

Daniel

For that particular system you can take any crappy generic PSU, but if you think about the future, you should really take a solid PSU from a well known manufacturer like OCZ, Corsair, antec etc. You can easily take the one that I suggested (GS600) and you won't have to think about buying a new PSU when you want to upgrade your system.

Hi - looks to be an older system (>5years) and doesn't have any
real power hungry components in it. A decent quality
350w PSU would be more than sufficient. I'll recommend
a couple in the 430 - 500w range as there are some good specials
running now:

Hi again Daniel - Is this power supply still working?
Just want to be sure you are not replacing it
just because it's discontinued.
