Hello,

I am a newbie and i am planning to build an Ivy bridge based system.

Here are the parts:
CPU: Intel 1155 Ivy Bridge Series, i7-3770k

Mainboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H, Intel Socket 1155pin ddr3 Motherboard

Memory: 16G Kit 1600(8Gx2) G.Skill

SSD: OCZ Vertex4 SATA3 256G

HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 7200rpm 500G

GPU: 2G ATI Radeon 7870

PSU: Antec HCG 900 watt

Any comments or advises would be greatly appreciated.

If this is a gaming build then you hosed yourself by going with that 3770K and 16GB of RAM and then short yourself with the vid card. But again without knowing the specifics.....
 
I suggest going with a single HD7970 to start. Keep the power of the psu capable of a second if you think it's needed.Your psu will still be more than needed. What will this pc be used for? The 3770 and 16G memory won't do anything for you unless you will be doing video/photoshop. I would look at a 2T WD HDD.
