Kodak P-850

Greetings,

I have and find it exceptional.

As you can see I work for Kodak, but honestly believe it is a great
camera and with the long zoom with Image stabilization for improved
image quality at longer zoom ranges and slower shutter speeds. You can
also capture VGA (640 x 480) video at 30 fps movies.

In my use, I find the image stabilization feature to yield much better
pictures of action shots, i.e. lower light of evening sporting events,
kids running around, etc. I also use a larger flash (it is a flash shoe
so an external flash can be used). This extends the flash range which
is so important in social and action subjects.

The feel is pretty good still small body but a little more substantial
than the 7590 series. It is and easy carry that does not get in the
way.

The RAW file option also allows for some pretty good editing options -
you get the full exposure information without compression.

Anyway, I suggeset you visit a local store when they arrive and get a
good hands on review as well as the feel of the camera. Like any other
camera, it is the features that once learned will give you the pictures
you want. This camera has it all in my evaluation.

I will answer your questions in the order asked.

Seems very comparable to Canon S2.
Can the Kodak take full res. stills while it's recording a movie.
Perhaps that's a common feature? Does anyone care?

RE: Compression
The specs also list three levels of JPEG compression as well at TIFF and
RAW, all firsts for a Kodak point & Shoot. Now if it were just as small
as my DX6440.....
