Limits of my ability, need advice on 990fxa cooler ram clearance issue

I built a 990FXA Gigagyte, AM3+ 8Core 3.6ghz with 16GB GSkill and a COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 and I have been having a lot of Win 8 Low Ram Warning Issues over the past couple months.

I recently ordered the 32GB Corsair Vengeance Ram Kit without thinking to check the height as the GSkill requires the heat sink to be pulled off to comfortably remove the slot 4 stick.

Corsair? NO WAY! not even close, it is twice as tall as the GSkill. I am sure that the heat sink on the ram is overkill for visual effect which if so, in my opinion is incredibly stupid to make a product that is hidden inside a box with form chosen over function.

Should I:

Remove the heat sink on the Corsair (it seems attached really well, maybe with that cake batter they call grease these days) and replace it with the GSkill heat sink? (even if it needs more cooling, it is butted up to the main heat sink and has convective cooling from that and a lot of air movement. I am not sure how much heat plays on ram, I know in 20 years of building computers I have never had my ram overheat.) Or maybe is ok just to go naked?

Or do I need to:

Get a skinnier CPU Cooler? If so what would be the best route for solid performance cooler at a Honey Dunno Price?

<I will spend if I have to but, I hate sleeping on the couch. I got a $5K budget on the promise of no more this year. Since it was gone I have bought 2 new firepro cards and the ram, so not too bad. Not counting the new raid data server because that was a maintenance issue and doesn't count.>
