Sound Card compatible?

I have a little issue which I can't solve alone.
I recently upgraded to windows 8,The motherboard I use is gigabyte p55-ud3r which doesn't have drivers for windows 8.
Without the drivers the sound is terrible, so I've decided to upgrade and buy creative sound blaster zx, however I have no idea how to check if this sound card is compatible with my motherboard.
Help please? :p

  1. does the mobo have a free PCI-E slot (x1, x4, or x16)? if so then you are good to go, just download the latest drivers

edit; i have no clue why there is a smiley face in the link.
  2. hi,
Your motherboard is using realtek ALC888 codec.
You can download windows 8 drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
  3. Yeah I have enough PCIE slots, the only thing I have plugged in is a GPU.
    Thanks a lot.
P.s It makes the link a lot happier hehe.

edit, thanks for the drivers, ill check those out.
