NEED HELP CHOOSING A GPU

Right now I am torn between a gtx 670 ftw edition, a reference 7970 to flash with the ghz BIOS, and the gigabyte windforce 7970. I have a 600w PC p & c mk III psu. Would my psu be able to handle an overclocked 7970? I only use a 1080p monitor but I want to future-proof as much as I can. Is the GE vbios really worth it over ocing a custom cooler 7970?

I don't think you can flash the 7970 bios into the ghz edition but OCing it gives the same results.

and your psu should run either card.

You definitely can flash the ghz bios to a regular 7970, just google it. Idk the success rate though.

hmm I guess I was wrong but I think thats rather pointless as you can literally just overclock to those frequencies. The only thing the ghz edition offers is the gpu boost for 50 mhz and higher rated ram.

I'm pretty sure you can't flash the GHz edition into the bios of the card, but it would be rather pointless and you'd have a higher chance of messing something up.

The PSU should be fine.

Tomshardware was unable to do the flash process. however, it doesn't even need flashing the BIOS all you need to do is just an OC.

Clearly, something's not right. Just look at the memory capacity. Then there's the GPU clock rate and missing support for OpenCL/DirectCompute. In the end, we’re forced to concede that upgrading an old board to the new BIOS just isn't as easy as it was in the past
