Hi - Any modern atx PSU will fit in that mid-tower. What's the make & model of that gtx550?
I can't find any that require 2 6pin pci-e connectors, they all require just 1.

Anyway, you need a quality 400w PSU for a sys with one gtx 550ti. I'll recommend
a couple in that range, but they'll likely have one pci-e connector which is
all you should need.

Why do you want to buy a whole new PSU when you can buy a molex to 6pin connector?
Like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

If you still want to go with a new power supply you can buy this

SLI and crossfire certified, 80 plus bronze

How does a psu that is 6.0 wide by 3.5 by 6.5 fit in the area he specified?

Waffle can you check those dimensions? Make sure it isn't just the screw holes but the entire area. I found few that were close but none that I would recommend in those dimensions.

If your present power supply is of a decent make and wattage than the molex connector will work. Usually though if it doesn't have the connectors it also doesn't have the wattage.

Def no on Raidmax - tier 5 on eggxpert psu list.
Tier 5 - Other than the units listed above for any of these brands, NOT RECOMMENDED. Replace ASAP if you have one.

He gave the PSU dimensions, not the space. He has an HP mid-tower, it will
accomodate any modern(reputable) atx psu, as their width & ht are limited, only length
can differ.

That hp he has came with a 300w psu, realhardtech suggests 400w(and 24a +12v) for a sys with a
gtx 550ti, he could get by with a 350w unit, 300 is cutting it close.
Most low end 300's don't have 24 +12v amps

Also, I don't know the quality level of that HP PSU, so he prob should upgrade.
