I'm building a computer, but it won't boot!

I've been trying to build my first computer, it has been 8 hours, and it won't boot up after countless tries :( . The only sign i get when i turn on my psu is a green led, which is a standby power led. The psu is not faulty because i have tested it using the paper clip trick. My specs are.
Asus z77-V-LK
Msi Radeon 7950 Twin Frozr
i5 3750k
rosewill 750w psu
8g Corsair Vengence RAM

I tried testing using a screwdriver on the power switch with no success, and i have also replaced my thermal paste.
