Desktop HD5770 vs GT650M GDDR5?

Hi again,

How does a GT650M with 2GB GDDR5 perform compared to a desktop HD5770? Are they about the same or is the HD5770 still stronger after those years?

5770 is still stronger. The 650M is about as fast as 6670, which is slower than a 5770.
Its not a bad card, but there is a reason why desktop so utterly dominate laptops (unless you are talking those monstrosities that cram desktop grade hardware in to what might look like a giant laptop X_x)

But if the processor of the pc with a 650M is much better than the processor of the pc with the 5770, would it balance things a bit?

it depends on the processor, you have to remember that laptop processors have a lower tdp and lower clock speeds because of the fact that its built to conserve battery life.

The one processor is an intel pentium E5200 (from 2008 xD) and the other is an intel i7 3610QM. According to some research the i7 is quite a bit better.

In that case the laptop will perform a lot better lol


I'm planning on getting a lappy with a gt650M soon and from what I've seen, it can play bf3 on ultra with no aa at 1366x768
