Trying to build my first machine. When I hook up the power supply the psu just clicks, and there are no lights on. I've disconnected everything one by one up to the cpu and every time it still clicked. Here is a site of the power supply I have http://support.gateway.com/s/POWER/6501079/6501079nv.shtml. It's a 700w psu that I grabbed off my older pc. Right now when I hook up the psu to the other pc that i originally got the psu from, the psu does not click. The motherboard I have is a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3. Also, the cpu i'm trying to run is an amd fx-8120.

Make sure that the motherboard in the new computer is properly mounted and secure. Ensure there are no extraneous wires, unused stand-offs, or other objects under the board. It sounds like something is causing a short.
