Gaming in 720p with this rig ...

Hi everyone,
In the next following days I will buy this rig, It would be like this : Intel core i3 3320, Sapphire HD 6950, 8GB Ram corsair vengeance, 500GB seagate. I was wondering, can I run modern games at the resolution of 1280x720 with high settings?

You could run modern games at 1920x1080 with high settings...

Yes you can but if you are gaming at a low resolution an i5 with a slightly weaker graphics card would be better.
So try if the i5-3350p fits in your budget.

Get i5 3470 + hd 7850 or gtx 650ti.both will maxout any games at 720p.

Not really. An I3 won't particularly bottleneck a HD 6950.

And you could play most modern games at sorta high/ultra settings in 1080p with that setup.
