CPU running faster than it's supposed to...

So I'm rockin out a third gen i5 3317u. It's a low power processor with a "maximum" speed of 1.7 GHz. However, I can open task manager when I'm running nothing and my computer is idling at 2.0-2.2 GHz... I'm genuinely confused about this, what's going on?

That processor is actually supposed to run at 2.6GHz, acording to intel:

It is running slower due to speedstep throttling back to save power when not in use.

If you want it to run @ 1.8GHZ, disable Intel Turbo Boost in your BIOS.
