I have a yamaha 6416 internal cd-rw. yesterday i was burning a cd and about 2 minutes into it i got a buffer underrun error. well i thought this was odd because this was the first time this has happened to me, so i restarted my computer. When it rebooted i put a blank cd in there and it would not read it. then i put a real disc in there and it still wont read. my system detects both and says theres nothing wrong with them. Is it my CD-RW or my scsi card? what can i do? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same drive but had no probs, Try putting in an audio cd, that doesnt use the scsi card, just direct to the soundcard, if that play, chances are its the scsi card, if not, its the drive. Mine died about 3 months old, I called yamaha (freefone to Belgium-im in uk), had a replacement 2 days later:) Dunno if yours is still in warranty, possibly not as they are old (ish) drives
