Hello.

I'm considering of getting this psu. It is very cheap when compared to other 700watts. (It's only 50€ whille an 600w corsair is like 70€)
Only thing I'm wondering if it is really that good. It says on their site that it's 80+, but I couldnt find it in this list http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80PlusPowerSuppliesDetail.aspx?id=19&type=2.

If someone could explain me if its any good or if its not then why its bad. I'd really like to understand what makes a good psu.

Thank you guys!!!

Also when I looked on the image gallery on their site it says on the box of the psu that its 350 - 700w.. What does that mean???

It means that they have Smart Series models with power ratings anywhere from the 350 Watt model up to the 700 Watt model.

It doesn't qualify to show up in the 80PLUS database because the Chieftec Smart Series are 230 Volts AC PSUs only. If it were able to support 120 Volts AC too then it would have been in the list if was submitted for testing.

There's no reason why it should be bad.

It should be similar to Corsair's VS Series that are also 220V ~240V Input Only. The Corsair's VS Series use CWT (Channel Well Technology) as its OEM.

All of the current Chieftec Smart Series models also use CWT as its OEM.
