G530 vs g860

Hi guys I am looking to build a new system and I have about 200$ to spend on the CPU and gpu and since I will only be playing swtor I was wondering if I should go with 150$ card ie 650 ti with the g540 or a 100$ card with a g860 or a Simulary priced CPU GPU combo
Note I will be playing at 1080p

  1. In keeping with the parameters you set up, I would go with the G540 and the better card. the G540 and G860 are only a single tier apart in Tom's Gaming CPU Hierarchy Chart: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
Usually 1 tier means you won't be able to tell the difference.
  2. If those are the only two practical options, then go for the G540 plus better graphics. The difference in CPU performance isn't worth 25% of the CPU/graphics budget whereas the difference in graphics performance is.

by that same token, the 650 ti is only one tier above the $100 7770.
  4. For $150, I recommend an HD 7850

It's much faster than the 650ti, and if you're gaming at 1080p, it'll make a huge difference.

    enjoy!
  5. Oh, not to mention, you get a coupon code for Bioshock infinite and the new tomb raider game with that card!

If you were so inclined, you could sell the codes to make the card's total cost very low.
  6. Sorry for my lack of knowledge but how much could I sell those games for since I live in Canada so there is no mail in rebate

    Edit
Nvm I was looking at the wrong card after switching sites ;)
  7. I was just looking at quils 400$ build and came up with this and for me cheaper is way better

Good build. Question - is your top priority keeping costs down, or playability at 1920x1080?
  12. Price down since I play at very low right now and the only reason I said 1080p is because I will be playing on my 42 inch tv but as long as it looks good and plays at atleast 30 fps
And sorry about not mentioning where I live
  13. so hows the build u chose in canada price?

u wont get better for less
  14. Just went to newegg Canada to see the prices and to buy and shipped to my door is 330$ but there is 2 20$ rebates so 290 in the end so I am happy I could stay under budget and can't wait to order the parts
