graphics memory is independent from the memory that goes on the motherboard; therefore, there should not be any compatibility issue.

not sure about the power supply. cannot find any info on how much Amps it puts out and based on the safeties it has build in it is a very low quality PSU

its a very low quality power supply don't use it if you are going to add a graphics card

Agree with rithurag

Just make sure your motherboard supports PCI express graphic cards and that it is not an old AGP graphic card motherboard.

Mercury isn't a brand I'd trust for a PSU. But I'm guessing it should be enough for low profile cards, if going entry level.

Which GPU is it that you're looking at?
Also, like all others said, the memory has nothing to do with GPU memory. So you're good to go even with a GDDR5 card.

Thanks.. Iam going with entry level graphic card only as of now... I would like to play crisis 2 and battlefield ..... pls suggest a entry level ddr3 1gb or + graphic card that will go with this psu....

What is your budget? What is your monitor's native resolution?

Also, what's the rest of your PC specs?
CPU and motherboard specifically.

Umm what the hell the Mercury brand PSU uses the Mercury car logo? that seems pretty shady.

I might be seeing a little bit of issues here.
You've got a G31 chipset, which means that most Radeon 5/6xxx cards wouldn't work too well with them, as G31 chipsets have with them, a PCI-E 1.0 slot. The Radeons are 2.1s. So there might exist some compatbility issues.
So you might as well look into an NVIDIA card. Like the GT440
http://www.flipkart.com/zotac-nvidia-geforce-gt440-1-gb...

The budget is actually too low for me to suggest any GPU.

Have you not bought that PSU yet? If you haven't, spend the money on a new PSU, and then save up for the GPU later on.

EDIT: Typos.

This Corsair should do the trick

Howz this? Very costly, but it looks good:
http://www.theitdepot.com/details-Corsair+Gaming+Series...(CMPSU-800G)_C14P9351.html
That's a solid PSU, but it's not going to useful for you.

and a ddr3 1gb+ graphic card nvidia pci-express from:
http://www.theitdepot.com/products-Graphic+Cards_C45.ht...

Try this one (GT440)

Thanks :D

For PSU alone, is it 4200INR? Or is it for the whole GPU and PSU?

Like I said, the Corsair CX430 is pretty good. It exeeds your budget, however it's a nice solid PSU that is unlikely to let you down.
