Screw size for 3.5" and 5.25" device mounting? Tags: Cases Devices Components Last response: February 4, 2013 1:05 AM in Components Share Nolam February 4, 2013 12:45:35 AM Hi guys! I bought a card reader and have a 3.5" to 5.25" bay adapter that came with my case, but I lost the screws. Can anyone tell me what screw size I need to buy? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere as apparently I'm the only one with this problem Thanks! -David More about : screw size device mounting Bromeh February 4, 2013 12:59:19 AM Try any screw you have and it should do the job (i mean any computer spare screw you have not a big 1/4" screw ) - The Brownie nukemaster February 4, 2013 1:03:05 AM #6-32(32 is the thread count per inch IIRC) for hard drives. These screws are used in electrical all the time M3 with a thread pitch of 0.5 for optical drives. Bring the adapter and a hard drive to the hardware store, they sell bulk screws, Make sure you get them SHORT Can't find your answer ? Ask !
