Approximate Purchase Date: roughly 2 weeks from now

Budget Range: $750-$800 (Including Monitor and OS) After Rebates; Before Shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (gaming, watching movies, surfing the internet)

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.ca

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Parts Preferences: Intel, but if AMD fits for the budget then that's fine

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 or better

Additional Comments: Nothing too specific, but I'd like not to have to upgrade to play new games for at least 6 months

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: All I have is a laptop at the moment, and I'm tired of the overheating. Even YouTube or Skype calls are a challenge. Plus, PC games on a decent system are just better XD

I like it so far, and I think to get the performance I want I'd go with the 6870. My only concern is, I've always heard that if the price difference between the GPU and CPU is too much, they won't perform optimally. Do you think the 3220 and the 6870 would be okay together?

Bump :( Oh, for reference, the games I want to run well are Fallout 3 and NV, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 3, Assassin's Creed 3, and any game that comes out within the next year, pretty much.
