Dsl gateway 2wire wireless

Hello,can I plug an ethernet cable into the 2 wire and plug
the other end of the ethernet cable into a wireless router and make it work? Thanks

Yes you can if you set the router up as an Access Point and give it a different IP address from that of the 2-Wire - say 10.0.0.1 and then give the wirelessly connected computers 10.0.0.2,10.0.0.3 etc. It's just as important to have a strong wireless security key in these circumstances.
