Hi i'm building my first PC used for casual gaming and school. What do you think? I'm not overdoing it on any part am I? I do not plan on overclocking and am at about my max budget. (Under $1000)

How many SATA cables will I need. Will my mobo come with enough?

Also what do you recommend for purchasing all of the parts? Should I see what websites have the cheapest price for my total build or what?
Thanks!

Thats a nice build, but I would go with a 7850 rather than a 6870.

PCPartPicker also always gives the lowest prices around.
Also, drop the i5 3570K for the i5 3550 and your mobo down to the Asus P8H77 or whatever their series is called, go for the LE version since its cheap and you arent OCing.
