I am a first-time builder, and I am trying to troubleshoot my system startup. I am hoping someone can help.
Three different things are happening as I play around with the system and change out the RAM using RAM1 or RAM2. I'm only using one RAM slot to troubleshoot.
- No RAM: Single beep, two short beeps -- this is the beep message for no memory, so this is expected
- RAM1: No beeps, computer is on, RAM LED is on
- RAM2: One beep that sounds a little different than the others, followed by a single beep and four short beeps, which indicates a hardware failure.
I'm hoping that this information can help me narrow down what is going wrong with my system as I go through the troubleshooting checklist. Any input would be very much appreciated.
