I don't consider them as RTS games. There is a turn based strategic layer where all the
building goes on. Heck, I think the strategic layer is a great TBS game all on its own
(use autoplay on the tactical battles).

Also where's Kohan? And Starcraft and Total Anhiliation?

Well if we include all genre in this post that will divert from the
original topic. I am 100% sure the above list is collected from
following website
http://aoe.heavengames.com/

As far as I think the coverage at heavengames can be combined to some
specific type. Like civilians and armys through ancient time to
robotics. And I think all the mentioned games in first post have much
more in common that certainly is not in others.

So long as you are corrupting the english language You might as well call Castle
Wolfenstein a wargame... Or Quake for that matter!

Yet surely if Caeser 3 and Zeus are included then Pharoah needs to be
included. Since the OP just said RTS games then it was a very ambiguos
post which missed out a large number of RTS games.

BTW - I don't really consider the city building games as RTS, I see them
as sims along the lines of sim city.

Well........well...........well. where the discussion turning to
? None tried to discussed the differences and similarities in the given list
of (somewhat) similar games.

There are certain similarities in AOE, AOK, AOM, EE as far as I know, and I
hope the others also have something in common.
