Haswell w/graphics card or not?

As many of you know, Intel recently showcased their new Haswell CPUs at CES. The focus was around their new GT3 graphics that are twice as fast as the current HD4000 and supposed to be as fast as a GTX 650. Before I heard this I was planning on buying a 650 seeing as how it doesn't cost very much.

My question is: Should I buy the new Haswell chip with a discreet graphics card or wait until I can afford a better card?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I say wait. See how everything comes out and people get them. See what they think of them. They might suck, or be the best thing ever. Just wait

I would wait....

As fast as a GTX 650? I really doubt that. As fast as a GT 650m would be more believable I suppose.

You do realize that the GT3 will only be available in Intel's mobile CPUs right?

.... unless Intel announced otherwise.

If you play games, you'll want a discrete GPU for several more generations. Entry-level GPUs from AMD and Nvidia use 65+ watts by themselves. There's no way Intel, a company that is not know for it's GPUs at all, can pack a powerful GPU with a powerful CPU in a 87W chip.

if I remember it right it was even lower. I think there was a "Dirt" comparison and GT3 performed similar to a 630M.

Yeah, I didn't think it would be as fast as a GT 650m, but I can't give any definitely answer other than my gut feeling tells me that is wrong as well.

If Haswell's graphic core were as powerful a GTX 650, then both AMD and nVidia would be in serious trouble.
