As many of you know, Intel recently showcased their new Haswell CPUs at CES. The focus was around their new GT3 graphics that are twice as fast as the current HD4000 and supposed to be as fast as a GTX 650. Before I heard this I was planning on buying a 650 seeing as how it doesn't cost very much.
My question is: Should I buy the new Haswell chip with a discreet graphics card or wait until I can afford a better card?
If you play games, you'll want a discrete GPU for several more generations. Entry-level GPUs from AMD and Nvidia use 65+ watts by themselves. There's no way Intel, a company that is not know for it's GPUs at all, can pack a powerful GPU with a powerful CPU in a 87W chip.
