Is my GTX 550 Ti too hot?

I ordered a new PC and it arrived yesterday. I got it all set up and working now but I am a bit concerned over the temperature of my graphics card. Idle it lays between 40-48 degrees Celsius but underload in a game like World of Warcraft the temperature jumps to the 80s. Peaking at 88 degrees at a point but mainly around 82-86 degrees Celsius.

Is this too hot?

My other specs are:

i5 2500k with stock cooler until I get money to order a better one

OS is Windows 7 64 bit

Please put my fears to rest, thanks!

  1. Temps are pretty much normal, not dangerous.
  2. i run a 550ti AMP Edition from Zotac and it runs around those sort of temps on full load.
  3. Around 80's is fine. I would start worrying when it gets to the 110c.
