Cut display?

So recently I bought the Avermedia Live Gamer HD. What I need to do to use it is plug in an HDMI from my GPU to the 'HDMI in' on the Gamer HD. Then I use another HDMI and plug it into the 'HDMI out' to the monitor.

My issue is when I use a 1920x1080 res., the edges are cut off like so:

When I use a 1680x1050 res. or lower, I don't have this issue.

Can someone help me out on how to fix the edges on a 1080p display (Basically it's zoomed in)?
Also: I don't encounter this issue when I just plug in my HDMI from my GPU directly to the monitor.

Is there not an auto adjust or manual picture adjust on your monitor? it should take care of it lickety split.

Was just searching and I found it. "Custom Scaling" but it's grayed out and can't select it.
