I've been looking for about an hour and haven't been able to find a straight answer to this. I ordered an EVGA GTX 670 SC 4GB a couple days ago, slated to arrive today. My question is: Can the card use all 4 GB of VRAM on a 256 bit bus, or is the 4GB a marketing ploy? I suppose I should have looked this up before forking over the extra money, but, oh well.

The 256-bit bus is inconsequential to the amount of RAM you have. What matters most is your screen resolution and the RAM usage of the particular games you play. Unless you are on multiple screens or a very high 2560x1600 resolution and playing a heavily modded Skyrim, you won't need the extra RAM.

I wouldn't do 4GB unless doing SLI and 3 screens @ 1920 x 1080
