Since today I thought to juice my Logitech Z906 with some DTS and dolby abilities... but my Asus Xonar D2X card is giving me the headaches!
When I try to install Unified drivers it crashes after uninstalling the drivers and getting detected again. When it installs the windows standard drivers the device gets seen in device manager but it wont output dolby nor DTS. I got digital out enabled in sound devices, but with a DTS source it doesnt output a thing. The test on Xonar software fails as well, outputting no sound. Cable seems to work as it lights up red both sides.
I use a MB from Asus itself, the P8Z77 M-PRO.
It has in following order:
1-PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16_1 (single at 16x, dual at 8x/8x)
2-PCIe 2.0 x1
3-PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16_2 (single at 16x, dual at 8x/8x)
4-PCIe 2.0 x16_3 (at 4x mode compatible with PCIe x1 and x4 devices)
Slot 1 Graphics card AMD Radeon HD 7800 series
Slot 2 (covered also by the grapics card so cant plug anything in)
Slot 3 Asus PCE-N15 11n Wireless LAN PCI-E Card
Slot 4 Asus Xonar D2X
Mainboard said this in NB PCIe configuration:
PCIEX16_1: link speed auto (at x8)
PCIEX16_2: link speed auto (at x1)
Already tried to switch Wireless lan and Xonar card but same bluescreen results.
Can I do anything to configure the Dolby/DTS better when the card is being seen by my system?
Can I update drivers without getting bluescreens all the time, so I dont have to use the standard windows drivers?
