My nephews birthday is coming up and his parents have decided to give him a new computer. I volunteered to build one for him, however, I have been away from the custom building scene for a while now. I'm hoping you all could point me in a good direction for the pc as I have absolutely no idea where to start :\ Anyway, here we go:
Approximate Purchase Date: the next 2 weeks
Budget Range: Around $700 USD Before Rebates. They can go about $50 USD more if it will help.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Movies, Music, Internet, School Projects
Are you buying a monitor: No. They all ready have a monitor picked out and is outside of the $700 budget.
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.com would be best; but if a better deal can be found on amazon, then that will work too.
Location: City, State/Region, Country - USA
Parts Preferences: by brand or type: Intel processor. I don't have a preference for any other parts (whatever works best I guess).
Overclocking: Maybe (It is not a necessity, but I think it's a nice feature to have.)
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: This build is for a 13 year old kid that likes to play video games on the pc. It doesn't need to be that great, but I want him to have a nice pc that will be able to play pretty much anything on medium settings or higher.
I already have 4gb ram he could have from a previous build of mine, so he won't need to buy any RAM.
