CPU Turbo Boost?

Hello everyone.

My problem is that I formatted my PC and I realized that when I played a game the performance actually was not as good as it was before the format. I think somehow the turbo mode on my CPU is not working even though it is set to enabled in the BIOS. I am using an Intel i5 2400 @ 3.10GHz. 3.10 is what it runs at now but before the format and with turbo, i was getting 3.6 GHz (like I was supposed to). Anyone have any ideas as to why my turbo boost all of a sudden is not working?

Thats normal. The CPU runs at 3.10 Ghz that is it's normal clock speed. Turbo boost will only kick in if it has to but it won't continually run that that speed.

I know. Im playing Battlefield 3 at maximum settings right now and have been testing different things for two days but nothing is working. It should definitely be kicking in.

I have two AMD Radeon HD 6870's
8 GB RAM
Windows 7 x64
Intel i5 2400

Check your CPU temps as well with HWMonitor or some other temperature monitoring software. Turbo Boost will look at temperatures to determine if it is safe to increase the clock speed above stock. You can add the Intel® Turbo Boost Monitor to watch the speed of the processor and when Turbo kicks in. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/De [...] ldID=19105

Temps are around 55C and i've been using that intel turbo boost monitor. Haven't seen it boost once in the past couple of days. Also, apart from that it says "Energy Saver" in the bottom right. Does that mean anything?
