I'm a total newbie when it comes to PC parts so please bare with me an excuse me ignorance!
Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP - hopefully within the next couple weeks.
Budget Range: ~$1.1k-1.4k including everything besides a keyboard and mouse.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, web browsing/movie watching, maybe a bit of video/graphic editing
Are you buying a monitor: Yes
Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anywhere convenient for a Canadian.
Location: Canada
Parts Preferences: No preference for anything (although I'm pretty set on my chosen CPU).
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in future
Your Monitor Resolution: Wanting 1920x1080
Additional Comments: I'm looking for a computer that can run games like Borderlands 2, Starcraft 2, BF3, future Bethesda games, etc without a problem. I am more interested in a build that will give me good frames over high-end graphics (I'd love to play on high end graphics, but it's not a MUST).
Here's what I have so far for a build (just a general idea made from a build generator):
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor $219.99
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard $149.99
RAM: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $44.99
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $98.99
Solid State Drive: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk $109.99
Graphics Card: MSI Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card $275.99
Case: NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case $63.21
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling 500W ATX12V Power Supply $50.13
Optical Drive: Sony AD-7280S-0B DVD/CD Writer $16.99
I have specific requirements for a monitor: good refresh rate, 1080p, and 21.5" or 22" screen size. I also want an HDMI port to hook up my Xbox 360 to it as well.
I want a PC that is easy to upgrade if need be: add another GPU, overclocking in future, etc. I feel like I should get a 700W PSU or something because of this. Thoughts?
Thanks for reading I appreciate any help!
