I am looking to purchase win7 at a low price.

I found this site softonsales.com

anyone use them before. I don't want to get screwed over.

and they are in china so i wouldnt use them

always look for a company that gives a phone number (not just a mobile) and a checkable address--cant find any

Hello s2m;

It used to be you could look at prices and figure that out. Way too low = obvious 'screw you over site'. But those sites got smarter and raised the prices just enough so you might think they're legit.

The site is missing 'real contact info'. Just an email address, web site contact form, phone number in China and web chat.
The base of operations is in a country notorious for counterfeiting software.
Those two things say 'screw you over site' to me.

but anywhere selling it too cheap is likely to be dodgy

what about an upgrade version? thats cheaper

or do you qualify for a student version?

I know its in the UK but can't imagine postage too high! They sell Dell branded versions so your machine will think its a Dell but sure that won't bother you. I've used a few of their licences with no problems.Also search Amazon for OEM versions, sometimes get a bargain there. Good luck with the Student version...

Rule of thumb when buying Windows, cheap price, most likely not a genuine version.
Genuine versions of the Windows OS very, very rarely sell for more than a few dollars in difference in price, anywhere, it's just that simple. Buy only from reputable vendors.

Totally agree. Your safest bet is of course Microsoft

Other vendors shoud not deviate much from these prices if they're selling legitimate licenses.
