How do i cut down the boarders

I have my pc plugged into a sharp 42 inch screen and it can do 1920x1080p and it looks rely good. Other than the fact that 2 inches of picture hang off the side and bottom of the screen. and any other resolution leaves a picture frame around what i see on the screen and is bad resolution. how do i go about getting it to fill the entire screen with no picture frame around it without hanging way off

Check TV options for scaling stuff, TVs often need to be set to receive input from the PC.

That was my original idea too but it only has the option to adjust its position but not its scale.

It won't be under scaling options, it should be something called PC mode.
