Hello,
guys before everything i would like to ask you not to say get new pc and stuff like that please.THANKS
so i have really old pc intel celeron 2.40 ghz,1.5 GB DDR400 RAM,100 gb hdd,ati radeon hd 2600 pro agp 512mb and i was wondering since this cpu (intel celeron 2.40 ghz) has only 128kb of l2 cache is really slow compared to my intel pentium 4 1.80 ghz (which can be clocked to 2.40 ghz on mobo) so will this l2 cache from pentium 4 which is 512kb speed up things??thank for your time

More about : intel antiques pls

It really comes down to the application. While cache can can help on a number of application it may not make a difference on others. If the Intel® Pentium® 4 1.8GHz is overclocked to 2.4GHz than you are likely going to a small performance boost in loading information from the RAM/HDD. The more you need to load the better the overall performance boost you are going to get.

In my experience with the P4s, clock is the only thing that matters. The cache and the FSB make so little difference that they are not even worth thinking about. Go with the 2.4.

PS I have a bunch of p4s. I will give you a chip if you want. PM me.

im speaking its not intelligent to invest in such an old build. first of all theres a markup on such parts and you get no warranty.

well roko. have u tried uninstalling the heatsink. cleaning the old thermalpaste off with rubbing alcohol 77 to 100%. and than reapplying a pea size of thermalpaste, than smearing it with a business card evenly, than setting the cpu cooler back on, than restarting your pc.

?
