I have just purchased a 3d monitor to connect to my Nvidia gtx560 ti 2gb so I can game in 3d. I haven't been able to find any real reviews about it's 3d function in conjunction with the gtx 560 ti and was wondering if anyone knew if this was capable of running my games in 3d with my gpu. The monitor is an Acer GR235H and states that it is a 3d monitor. Some of the specs state that it is 60 hz and others say it is 120 hz. Having emailed Nvidia tech support, they just sent an email with a load of links to a web page on their site, which I found less than helpful. Acer failed to reply.
Surely if the GPU is producing 3d images and the screen can render the 3d images then I should be able to game in 3d without the need to invest even more money on specific "Nvidia" only kit???? Acer are listed as making compatible hardware and this monitor lists itself as a "3d gaming monitor". There seems to be no actual standard as from what I have found each company seems to have their own individual system, narrowing the availability and hiking the price to suit.
